What to expect

Despite its modest size, Edale is one of the Peak District’s most significant villages. It marks the official southern start of the Pennine Way, England’s oldest National Trail, and serves as the gateway to Kinder Scout, the highest point in the Peak District National Park. The village has long been associated with walking and outdoor adventure, including the famous Kinder Mass Trespass of 1932, which played a pivotal role in improving public access to the countryside.
