Yorkshire Sculpture Park
West Yorkshire
Yorkshire Sculpture Park is one of the UK’s leading open-air sculpture galleries, set within more than 500 acres of historic parkland at West Bretton in West Yorkshire.
The landscape combines rolling countryside, woodland, lakes and formal gardens with a constantly changing collection of modern and contemporary sculpture.
Alongside its outdoor artworks, the park has several indoor galleries and exhibition spaces, making it a destination where art, nature and the surrounding landscape are experienced together. A full visit can easily take several hours, with plenty of walking between the different areas of the park.

Exploring Yorkshire Sculpture Park
What to expect
Yorkshire Sculpture Park places contemporary sculpture within a vast historic landscape, meaning the setting is as much a part of the experience as the artworks themselves. Large-scale sculptures are positioned throughout the parkland, woodland, lakes and gardens, with different routes allowing visitors to discover works at their own pace.
The park features permanent works alongside a constantly changing programme of temporary exhibitions and outdoor installations. Artists represented at YSP have included some of the most significant names in modern and contemporary sculpture, while the galleries provide additional indoor exhibitions throughout the year.
There is plenty of walking involved, with paths crossing open parkland and woodland and following the landscape around the lakes. The combination of art, nature and changing views means the experience can feel quite different from a conventional gallery visit, and comfortable footwear is recommended.

Explore Responsibly
Take nothing but pictures, leave nothing but footprints!
Yorkshire Sculpture Park is both a major art collection and a valuable landscape supporting wildlife, livestock and important habitats. Please help protect the park by not climbing or sitting on sculptures, keeping dogs on leads, staying on designated paths where possible, closing gates behind you, taking litter home and leaving plants and fungi undisturbed. Picnics should be enjoyed in designated areas, and cycling is not permitted within the grounds. Always park responsibly in designated parking areas and never block roads, gateways or access routes needed by residents, farmers or emergency service vehicles.
